GREEN BAY, Wis. (CBS 58) — It may still be more than a month before the Green Bay Packers' regular-season home opener, but Lambeau Field will have a game-day atmosphere for the 25th edition of Packers Family Night.

Nearly 60,000 fans are expected to attend the annual event, which gives fans their first extended look at the team inside Lambeau while giving players a chance to practice in front of a packed stadium.

Packers Head Coach Matt LaFleur said the environment can be especially valuable for younger players.

"I've never experienced anything like this," LaFleur said. "It's so good for our young players. It feels more like a preseason game than a practice."

General Manager Brian Gutekunst said every training camp practice carries importance, but events such as Family Night, preseason games and joint practices bring an added level of intensity.

"Every practice matters. Every rep matters," Gutekunst said. "But there are some with the preseason games, the joint practice and Family Night that are some markers that just mean a little more. The urgency and competitiveness might be ramped up a little bit."

For players and fans alike, Family Night has become one of the first major signs that another Packers season is right around the corner.
