IRELAND (CBS 58) -- Stephen O'Brien started a Green Bay Packers fan group in Ireland in 2013. CBS 58 talked to him virtually on Wednesday, May 14, about the fact the Packers will not be playing in his country against the Pittsburgh Steelers this year -- despite rumors earlier that it might happen.

The Steelers will play the Vikings over there instead.

CBS 58 asked O'Brien how he became a Packers fan, and he shared his process of shopping for an NFL team to root for.

"You know you can see the Bears, Eagles, Vikings and you know what they all are. But when you look at the Green Bay Packers, it's not exactly obvious what they are," said O'Brien. "Then you look into the Packers and they're the Acme Packers and then it brings you right back to the history in 1919. So as a bit of a history nut and you look out into the field and you see centuries of history, I was just absolutely hooked by the history of the team."

O'Brien says his fan group goes to Green Bay to see a game every year. This year, he said they might come to see them play the Philadelphia Eagles on Nov. 10.
