Packers get LB B.J. Goodson in trade from Giants

The Green Bay Packers sent an undisclosed draft pick to the New York Giants for linebacker B.J. Goodson, the team announced on Tuesday.

The Packers were thin at LB due to injuries and the way their roster shaped out after making cuts down to 53 players.

LB Oren Burks (chest) did not practice Monday or Tuesday. He is unlikely to play on Thursday in Chicago.

Goodson is a fourth year player out of Clemson. He was originally drafted in the fourth round by the Giants in 2016.

Goodson is a 6-foot-1, 242-pound LB who appeared in 37 games with the Giants, starting 20 of them. 2018 was Goodson's best year, with 60 tackles and two interceptions.

Goodson will wear No. 93 for the Packers.
