MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A South Milwaukee man was seriously injured Tuesday, after being struck by a car just before 3 p.m.

Police say the 53-year-old pedestrian was hit by a vehicle driven by a 72-year-old South Milwaukee resident, who officials say may have suffered a medical event prior to the accident. 

The pedestrian was taken to Froedtert Hospital with serious injuries. 

The South Milwaukee Police Department and Wisconsin State Patrol are investigating.
