MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Penfield Children's Center's in-home Early Head Start program pairs families with a home visitor who provides weekly coaching, play kits, books and resources to support early childhood development at no cost to eligible families.
Blanca Cecilia Rivera and Marie Helser, home visitors with Early Head Start, joined us on Tuesday, Feb. 24 with more info.
About 90% of a child's brain develops by age 3, according to Penfield Children's Center. The program focuses on helping caregivers build developmentally appropriate skills through play-based learning during that window.
The in-home model is designed for stay-at-home parents and caregivers. Families receiving public assistance such as SNAP or SSI are encouraged to apply.
