Planned HARIBO factory in Pleasant Prairie hopes to employ 1,450

PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. (CBS 58) – The proposed HARIBO factory in Pleasant Prairie is looking to buy 136 acres of land in a new industrial park near 120^th Avenue and County Highway C.

The details were released as part of a plan discussed by the Pleasant Prairie Plan Commission during a public hearing on Tuesday.

As part of the plan, the company says it would employ up to 450 people in the first phase of the project and about 1,450 when the factory is finished.

The facility would also have a retail store and museum.

HARIBO would start building the factory in 2019 and production would start in 2021.
