BROOKFIELD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Brookfield police say a motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash near 128th and Capitol Wednesday evening. 

Officials say around 5:39 p.m., a motorcycle traveling westbound on Capitol Drive struck a dump truck turning northbound onto 128th Street from eastbound Capitol Drive. 

Police say the motorcycle's speed appears to be a contributing factor, based on information obtained from witnesses. 

The motorcycle driver was taken to an area hospital with "significant" injuries. The dump truck driver was not injured and is cooperating with the investigation.

Multiple streets in the area are closed, and traffic is expected to be blocked off for several hours as Wisconsin State Patrol investigates.
