Police: Sheboygan man arrested after accidently shooting friend

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Sheboygan Police Department investigated an accidental shooting that happened just before 9 p.m. near 9th and New York in Sheboygan on Saturday, June 5.

Police say the victim is an 18-year-old man from Sheboygan Falls. He arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound to the pelvic region.

According to police, the victim's friend, a 21-year-old Sheboygan man, had recently purchased a handgun and was manipulating it when he accidently shot his friend. 

Officials say the victim sustained non-life threatening injuries. The 21-year-old man was referred to the Sheboygan County District Attorney's Office for a charge of second degree recklessly endangering safety, and was transported to jail.
