Program offering free tax help for Milwaukee County residents begins

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – You can get help getting your income taxes done for free.

Milwaukee County’s Social Development Commission kicked off its Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program today.

Last year, the program helped Milwaukee County taxpayers save $1.4 million in tax preparation fees.

The program also helps Milwaukee County residents get on a path towards financial stability.

The free tax help is for households earning less than $58,000 a year.
