Racine firefighter union assembles life preserver stations along lakefront following summer drownings

RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Racine's firefighter union is putting together three life preserver stations along the Lake Michigan lakefront.
This comes after a series of summer drownings in Lake Michigan, with the most recent happening at North Beach on Sunday.
The union says two life preserver stations will be at North Beach and a third will be at Zoo Beach.
Each box will be equipped with 20-25 life preservers ranging from infant to adult sizes, plus safety rings to throw to anyone struggling in the water.
