Racine & Me: Racine Arts Council golf outing supports local creativity through ArtSeed Grants

RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Racine Arts Council is teeing up its biggest fundraiser of the year while helping bring new creative projects to life across the community.

The Positive Power of Art Golf Outing returns Sunday, August 23, at Ives Grove Golf Links. Open to both casual and serious golfers, the event includes 18 holes of golf, a cart, a lunch voucher to the Fairway Café, a buffet dinner, snacks, water, giveaways, contests, a silent auction, and a 50/50 raffle. Golfers will also have the chance to win prizes, including a $5,000 Von Hasle Jewelers gift certificate on a Hole-in-One challenge.

Proceeds from the outing directly support the Racine Arts Council's mission to strengthen the arts, vibrancy, and quality of life throughout Racine County. Registration is open for both golfers and sponsors.

One of the organization's signature programs is the ArtSeed Grant program, which helps incubate creativity and innovation throughout the county. This year, the Racine Arts Council awarded $12,500 to nine projects that span a wide range of artistic disciplines.

The 2026 recipients include the Black Arts Council of Racine, Choral Arts Society of Southeastern Wisconsin, filmmaker Jason Love, Mahogany Black Arts & Cultural Center, Over Our Head Players, Racine Blues Society, Racine Symphony Orchestra, Racine Zoo, and Waterford Public Library. The funded projects range from memoir writing workshops and documentary filmmaking to public art, theater, music education, and live performances.
