Racine Police Department Chief Maurice Robinson resigns

RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Racine Police Department Chief Maurice Robinson has submitted his resignation.

A news release from Racine Mayor Cory Mason's office shared the announcement, saying Robinson submitted his resignation to the Fire and Police Commission.

Robinson was sworn in as chief on May 10, 2021. He previously served with the Cincinnati Police Department.

Mayor Mason said in the release, during his time with the department, Robinson implemented strategies to deal with the national
