Wisconsin tourism hits record growth for fourth straight year
RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A group of local students in Racine unveiled their new storage shed Tuesday, meant to help make a nearby community garden more accessible and user-friendly.
Two years ago, Park High School received a grant from United Way to assist with community-based projects.
The students put the funds to good use, designing and building a shed and rainwater collection system right next to the school.
We talked to one volunteer who says he's glad he was able to put his passion for building toward a good cause.
"I wanted to be involved with it because myself, I love to build stuff, I have since a young age," said Caleb del Toro. "That has always been something that I have enjoyed, so I figured it's a great way to serve my community, and using the skills I have."
In addition to building the shed, these students also learned the necessary steps in how to properly grow and maintain a community garden.
