RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- As temperatures dip in the coming weeks, the Racine Zoo remains a hub of activity, offering a slew of events for visitors. Beth Heidorn, Executive Director, and Ryan Retzke, Conservation Education Supervisor, detailed the festivities to look forward to when they joined us on Monday, Oct. 30.
Extended for several dates in November, the Jack-O'-Lantern Nights offers over 1,000 intricately carved jack-o'-lanterns that illuminate the zoo, portraying cats, owls, scarecrows and other Halloween themes. The event will also feature the debut of pumpkin sculptures in 2023, with animals such as giraffes, lions and snakes crafted from multiple pumpkins.
In addition to the lanterns, guests can partake in a decorating contest, indulge in seasonal treats and bask in other light displays.
Brunch with Santa is slated for Saturday, Dec. 2. Families can enjoy a festive brunch, engage in holiday crafts, meet animal ambassadors and even get a photo with Santa. Tickets for this event are available online.
More information can be found by visiting the Racine Zoo online.
