Racine Zoo introduces the newest members of the Zoo family: Cape Porcupines

RACINE Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Racine Zoo introduced Bristle and Nettle, two African Cape porcupines, to their new exhibit!

The porcupines can be found in the northeast enclosure inside the Vanishing Kingdom at the Racine Zoo. After spending several months in quarantine to ensure they were in peak health, they have officially joined the zoo exhibits.

Cape porcupines can be found in the rocky, vegetated areas of Southern Africa. They spend most of their day searching for bark, roots, and fruit to eat. Bristle is the father of Nettle, and the zookeepers think he has more of a "dark chocolate" coloring. Nettle has more of a "milk chocolate" coloring.
