Rain arrives this evening with a chance for a wintry mix overnight

Temperatures have struggled to get out of the 40s today thanks to the clouds and a northeast wind.  A storm system from the southwest arrives later this evening with light rain developing.  This system is weakening, so heavy rain isn't expected.

Over the last several days the models were signaling a better chance for accumulating snow out of this.  As the winds shift out of the north, colder air starts to arrive on the backside of the system.

After midnight, there will be a window where light rain changes over to some wet snow.  We don't expect the snow to accumulate, and if it does, it would be confined to the grass and not the roads.

Winds shift on Friday back to the southeast keeping lakeside areas cooler with inland spots warming to 50.
