Welcome to the month of March and the start of meteorological spring! Of course, around Wisconsin, that does not mean we are done with wintry weather just yet (not by a long shot).
But let's take a quick look back at the month of February, which was fairly close to average for us:

Early in the month, we were concerned with how dry it was. But thanks to some late-month precipitation (including decent snowfall), we caught up.
Now, moving into March, these are the typical averages for us:

Remember that average is simply the middle point of extremes. It can certainly get very cold in March (remember the "Polar Vortex of 2019?), and it can also get plenty warm. Let's take a peek at what happened in March of last year:

Peeking ahead into the forecast, we may see a decent warm up by the middle of this month. However, don't be shocked if wintry weather comes slamming back into the state to close out the month. One other thing to keep in mind: severe weather season is just around the corner.
