Packers approve new team president and CEO
GREEN BAY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Former Arena Football executive Ed Policy is being named president and CEO of the Green Bay Packers, according to the team.
Policy has been with the Packers since 2012 and is currently the team's chief operating officer and general counsel.
He will succeed Mark Murphy who will reach the mandatory retirement age of 70 next July.
In a Monday, June 24 press release, Murphy offered his congratulations to Policy, saying, "Ed has been a tremendous asset to the organization during his 12 years here and has been greatly instrumental in our success. His work on Titletown has been particularly impactful."
If Policy's name sounds familiar, his father, Carmen Policy, served as president of the Cleveland Browns and New England Patriots during the 1990s and early 2000s.
