
BURLINGTON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Burlington Fire Department is mourning the loss of retired Chief Alan Babe. The department announced Babe passed away on Sunday, July 6.
"Chief Babe was a highly respected leader, mentor, and dedicated public servant whose legacy of service and commitment to the community will be remembered for years to come," the Burlington Fire Department said in part in a news release.
"The City of Burlington extends its deepest condolences to Chief Babe’s loving wife, Frankie, and the entire Babe family. We ask the community to keep them in their thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time."
Funeral services have yet to be announced.

countless firefighters and community members through his compassion, professionalism, and selflessness.
Funeral service and memorial arrangement details will be shared with the public as soon as they become available.
