'Safe Summer Sites' program offers safe spaces for students when school is out

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The summer months are here, and Milwaukee leaders are creating a safe space for students when the school doors are closed.
The Safe Summer Sites program has the goal of giving kids a sense of structure to their summer.
Participants can enjoy a number of free activities such as playing sports, video game tournaments, and mentorship programs.
"This Safe Summer Sites represents that shared commitment to ensuring that our youth have access to safe spaces, trusted adults, positive opportunities, and meaningful support throughout the summer," said David Muhammad, Milwaukee County Department of Health and Human Services.
