A boost in temperatures despite the lack of sunshine
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The familiar chime of Salvation Army bell ringers will soon resonate through Milwaukee County as the holiday season approaches. The annual Red Kettle Campaign, instrumental in funding local services and programs, is set to begin with new initiatives and a commitment to community support.
Johnnetria Gardner, Red Kettle Coordinator, and Major Trevor McClintock, Divisional Commander, joined us on Thursday, Nov. 2 to share information about the 2023 plans. They emphasized the critical need for volunteer bell ringers and introduced the "Tap to Give" program, allowing for a seamless credit card donation at select kettle locations.
The two also discussed the theme for the year, "Love Beyond," spotlighting the broad impact of every donation. The campaign, starting on Friday, Nov. 10, serves as the largest fundraiser for The Salvation Army of Milwaukee County, with funds aiding a variety of services, from winter clothing and Christmas toys to disaster assistance.
