Sargento donates $49K to Hunger Task Force

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Despite not having the end to the postseason that fans were hoping for, the Milwaukee Brewers were still able to provide for the community while on the field by partnering with Sargento Cheese to support families in need throughout Milwaukee.

According to a Friday, Oct. 4 press release, Sargento donated $200 to Hunger Task Force every time the Brewers hit a double during the regular season. The team recorded 249 doubles, resulting in a $49,800 donation this season.

Since the inception of the Double Helping for Hunger program, Sargento has donated a total of $297,200.

Hunger Task Force says that the funds will provide healthy meals for children, families and seniors through the organization’s network of food pantries, shelters and meal sites.
