WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- At Noon on Wednesday, July 19, the Waukesha County Fair opened the gates for the 181st annual fair. This year's fair is themed "seeing is believing" and there will be a lot to see.

"What's better than sunshine and fair fun? So, here we are enjoying it all, having the moments happen and the memories to last a lifetime," said Chrissy Gluege, executive director of the fair.

Daily auctions will take place in the agriculture area. Plus, meet this year's fairest of the fair in the poultry area.

This year, there will be 10 new food vendors, including Sippie Hippie with their lemonade and popular bourbon caramel coffee drink.

And stilt walkers will return for the first fest in a long time. Gluege says even after 181 years, they're still trying to add new and exciting entertainment.

"We haven’t had stilt walkers at the fair in almost 15 years," said Gluege. "Being able to add that wow factor."

There will be daily specials to make the festival affordable for all. Families are encouraged to look online before coming to see what the unique programs are each day.
