SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The city of Sheboygan is responding after one of its leaders said he's stepping down.
In a new statement Tuesday, officials said city attorney Charles Adams announced he's retiring.
Adams' announcement on March 19 came just two days after the city council went into closed session over Adams' conduct and performance.
The statement says the city council members discussed a report put together by a law firm.
That report was not made public, and the city says there will be no formal action.
Adams served as city attorney for 10 years.
