RACINE Wis, (CBS58) -- Loved ones are mourning a man shot and killed in Racine.

On Sunday, Nov. 2, the owner of Chicken Palace on Washington Avenue, says a man came running in and started shooting.

"I saw someone open the door very quick and then shoot everywhere," Macela Rodriguez, Chicken Palace owner.

Chicken Palace Owner Macela Rodriguez says the suspect fired 24 shots inside her restaurant.

"I go to the floor, too, and then I don't see nothing else. I can't open my eyes because I didn't want to see if my guys were shot," said Rodriguez.

Dozens of bullet holes pierced the walls, equipment and glass at the Chicken Palace. Rodriguez says she's thankful to be alive.

"Maybe my husband, he's always looking for me. He passed away a year and six months ago, but I still think he's protecting me," said Rodriguez.

Loved ones identified the man killed as 25-year-old Jaquan Calhoun.

"My sister called me and told me what happened and I was just so shocked and disbelief and baffled because I'm like this can't be true like it can't be true," said Von Marshall, victim's cousin.

It's not yet clear what led up to the shooting. Calhoun's cousin, Von Marshall, says Calhoun was a good person with his first child on the way.

"He had a good life ahead of him. All he wanted to do was really take care of his wife and his child," said Marshall.

Now, loved ones and Rodriguez are left picking up the pieces.

Racine police say no arrests have been made.
