Sheboygan Co. Sheriff's Office: Flight For Life called after vehicle crashes into the Pigeon River

SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Sheboygan County Sheriff's Office confirms that one person had to be flown to a local hospital by Flight For Life following a single-vehicle crash.

Rescue crews were called out for a report of a single vehicle that exited I-43 just north of State Highway 23 and crashed into the Pigeon River in the Town of Sheboygan.

It happened around 9:30 p.m. on Monday. 

The Sheboygan County Sheriff's Office confirms that one passenger was out of the vehicle upon deputies arrival. The driver was extricated from the vehicle a short while ago and was flown to a local hospital. Their condition is unknown at this time.

The Sheriff's Office remains on scene investigating and will release more information as it becomes available.
