Shower and storm chances increase Tuesday with steady rain at night

Clouds have increased Tuesday morning ahead of our next chance for rain. All of southeast Wisconsin is dry for the most of the early morning hours but a few showers are possible in some of our northern and northwest counties like Fond du Lac, Sheboygan and Dodge Counties. Northern Wisconsin is getting a good soaking rain to start the day which is great news since they are under a Severe and Extreme drought.

After some isolated afternoon and early evening showers, the better chance for showers will be after dark Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning. Some downpours or embedded thunderstorms will also be possible. 

A soaking rain looks possible for most of the area, especially with the steady rain Tuesday night. At least a quarter inch of rain is expected in most areas with some spots getting as much as an inch. 

The threat for strong to severe storms will mostly stay to our west and southwest on Tuesday. Parts of Iowa are under a Level 2 Slight Risk with a Level 1 Marginal Risk stretching into southwest Wisconsin. Right now, southeast Wisconsin is not included in any strong/severe storm risks for Tuesday or Wednesday.
