Meet CBS 58’s Pet of the Week: Gravy
We've been talking about it all month. The excessive heat that has been ongoing across the southern United States. We now expect that heat to expand to most of the county next week. While we aren't tracking the triple-digit temperatures those spots have been plagued with, we will likely see a couple 90s. Even though our average high in Milwaukee tops out at 82 during the peak of summer, it is still normal to have a handful of 90 degree days, nine to be exact.
Here's a look at recent history. And if you recall, one of those 12 days from last year actually hit 100 - right on the first day of summer! Some years have had more than 30 days with 90 plus heat. The other thing to note is that we expect increasing humidity too. That could provide feels like temps well into the mid to upper 90s. Most of the next week looks dry, but by Friday we look to track more storms. That chance may keep temps in the 80s. This looks to be the most consistent heat we've had all summer. Be sure to use common sense to navigate through this hot week ahead.I'm meteorologist Rebecca Schuld
