Southside Walgreens, slated for mid-November closure, shuts down early

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- An unpleasant surprise for people living on Milwaukee's near south side: the Walgreens store at 26th and National Avenue has closed without much warning. 

Walgreens recently announced that it was closing hundreds of stores around the country. 

Milwaukee Alderwoman JoCasta Zamarripa said in a statement that she was informed that while this particular store was going to be closed in mid-November, the decision was made to close early after several thefts in recent weeks.

She says she's "extremely disappointed" that people in the neighborhood did not get advance notice.
