MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Southwest Airlines announced that they are expected to resume normal schedules on Friday after a long eight days of holiday travel chaos.
In Milwaukee alone, 30 Southwest flights were canceled Thursday.
Just two days ago, the baggage carousel was loaded with luggage. Now, that scene is different, but a number of folks are still looking for their belongings.
So far, Southwest Airlines has canceled over 8,000 flights, and on Thursday, just over 2,000.
Thursday morning, we saw a line that kept building up, of people looking for their luggage days after they touched down here in Milwaukee.
One man we spoke with says he's been looking for his belongings since last week, claiming one of his three bags on Thursday. He says he's spent hundreds of dollars rebooking his flight.
"We've been waiting since the 23rd for my bags," said Nick Balmer. "We were supposed to fly out then, but we ended up getting a flight out on Christmas and it's been an absolute nightmare."
Southwest Airlines could reimburse passengers for meals and other expenses as well as connect them with their baggage on their website.
