Spirit Airlines to discontinue service at Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport in 2026
CBS 58 MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Spirit Airlines has announced plans to discontinue service at Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport.
Milwaukee joins Phoenix, St. Louis, and Rochester, New York as cities that Spirit has decided to cut service to.
In a statement, the airliner said the move was, "part of our efforts to better position the airline for the future" and "focus on our strongest performing markets."
This comes as Spirit had already added a number of flights to Mitchell International earlier this year.
The change will go into effect Jan. 8.
Spirit went on to say, in part, "We apologize to our Guests for any inconvenience and will reach out to those with affected travel plans to notify them of their options, including a refund. Thank you to our partners and Guests in these communities for their support over the years."
