Steady rain for Thursday with lingering showers Friday
The morning commute for Thursday is fairly dry but as we approach the mid-morning hours, scattered showers will arrive. Then the rain turns steady by the midday hours with some periods of moderate to heavy steady rain possible for most of the afternoon and evening. We may get a few dry hours Thursday night before scattered light showers continue throughout the rest of Friday.
Rain totals by midnight Thursday night could reach 0.75" in most areas. But with more showers throughout Friday we could see rain totals getting close to and above 1" by the start of the weekend.
Wind speeds won't be too bad for Thursday but a very strong wind is expected for Friday. Strong enough that a wind advisory is possible. Wind gusts Friday will be out of the NW gusting to 40 mph. The wind will get lighter for the weekend.
The strong wind on Friday will usher in cold air and as long as the clouds clear out Friday night, it's going to be a cold start to Saturday. Low temperatures could drop into the 30s with the first frost of the season possible in many inland communities with lows in the low to middle 30s.
