Step back in time at Bay View's Happy Dough Lucky donut shop and arcade

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Pizza, donuts and pinball: it's a recipe for fun at Happy Dough Lucky. The Bay View arcade and donut shop has everything from vintage toys and knickknacks displayed to arcade games and claw machines. 

"We have about 12 arcades...we have six retro arcades from Pac-Man and then we have pinballs like Terminator II, there’s a big pinball community. They take them very seriously," said Andrew Swofford, the owner of Happy Dough Lucky.

"People really enjoy it. They smile, they take pictures, and I think it brings back a lot of memories of people’s childhood. Everyone wants to be a kid again."

While people come for the "remember whens" and the old-school games and nostalgia, they stay for the donuts.

"Our loaded donuts, like s’mores, yabba dabba doo, the dirt cup ... they’re all made fresh to order. So, when somebody walks in, their donuts aren’t even made yet. They start out as a plain cake donut, and we sort of build their dream donut." 

Happy Dough Lucky also has a bar and flatbread pizza. They are open Wednesday through Sunday. You can also find them at events and caterings.
