🐶🎤Still wondering who let the dogs out? Baha Men head to Summerfest
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) - The Baha Men are ready to bring the party to Milwaukee.
Ahead of their Summerfest performance, Baha Men member Dyson Knight spoke with CBS 58 News Anchor Alex Corradetti to talk about the band's upcoming show, their decades-long career, and the song that made them a household name.
Knight said he's especially excited because it will be his first visit to Milwaukee.
"I've heard about the warmth, I've heard about the energy, I've heard that you all really love to party," Knight said. "That's what Summerfest is all about. So we're going to bring that energy all the way from the Bahamas."
While many fans know the group for their Grammy Award-winning hit "Who Let the Dogs Out," Knight said concertgoers can expect much more than a single song.
"We do 90-minute sets," he said. "You're going to see a lot of well-trained, fine-oiled machinery of musicians performing some of the songs you love. It's going to be a high-energy, good-feel show all the way through."
Knight also highlighted "Winding Up," a song he wrote for the band more than a decade ago. He said it has become a fan favorite because of the crowd participation it creates during live performances.
"It's an unknown song that gets a lot of participation that people really enjoy," Knight said. "It's like a wind-up to the big finish."
During the interview, Knight also got a crash course in Wisconsin culture. After learning about kringle, the popular Wisconsin pastry, he promised not to leave the state without trying one.
"I won't leave without one," Knight said.
And while fans have been asking the same question for more than 25 years, Knight admitted the mystery remains unsolved.
"Did we ever find out who actually let the dogs out?" CBS 58's Alex Corradetti asked.
"That's one of the things we hope to figure out in Milwaukee," Knight joked. "We're still investigating."
As for what fans can expect when the Baha Men arrive at Summerfest?
"When I land, the party starts," Knight said. "Join the train. It's going to be a real party train. We're coming to bring a whole lot of vibes to Milwaukee."
