OAK CREEK, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Four juveniles were taken into custody late Monday night, Sept. 21, after a stolen vehicle they were in crashed into a pond in Oak Creek following a pursuit, according to the Caledonia Police Department.

Police say an officer noticed the vehicle, driven by a 17-year-old girl, had no license plate while traveling north on Highway 32 and attempted to make a traffic stop as it entered Oak Creek.

The vehicle hit speeds of more than 80 mph and turned off its headlights before the driver lost control attempting a turn and crashed into a pond, according to police.

Three of the four people inside the vehicle reportedly ran away, police say.

A police K-9 caught a 16-year-old girl at the scene, who suffered minor injuries and was treated at a hospital before being released to her parents. The other two who fled were caught a short time later with help from the Oak Creek Police Department, officials say.

The 17-year-old driver was booked into the Racine County Jail on recommended charges of fleeing and eluding and recklessly endangering safety. A 15-year-old boy was turned over to juvenile authorities in Green Bay, and a 16-year-old boy was released to his parents.

Police say the vehicle was stolen from Green Bay, and a charge for operating a vehicle without the owner's consent is pending.
