LAKE GENEVA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- An early-morning storm on Tuesday, Aug. 25 downed tree branches and knocked out power to many in Walworth County.
In one Lake Geneva neighborhood, several trees appeared to be charred from lightning. Alliant Energy was working throughout the morning to restore power.

One woman told CBS 58 she woke up around 3 a.m. to high winds and a lot of lightning.
"It was just kind of that pulsing light, it was a pretty spectacular storm," Lake Geneva resident Patti Sudendorf said. "When I came out here this morning, when the sun came up, that’s when I saw like the char and the char down here and I thought maybe that was a lighting strike versus just the wind bringing the branches down because I mean I had a little leaves and little branches, but this was pretty major."
Clean-up is underway for many in Lake Geneva this morning. Patti tells us it was a spectacular storm with a lot of lighting. This tree at the end of her property appears to have been hit by one of those strikes. @CBS58pic.twitter.com/1arEly8v0I
