Updated: 10:16 a.m. Jul. 16, 2025
Storms are still on track for Wednesday afternoon and evening. The sky should still be dry through about midday then storm chances start to increase around 1 PM. Right around the evening commute time from 4-6 PM looks like the bullseye for most of southeast Wisconsin to see strong to severe storms.
Temperatures on Wednesday are expected to be warm. By mid-morning most areas are already in the middle 80s with upper 80s currently forecast and a few isolated 90s. A lake breeze could develop in the afternoon which might halt the warming or even cool temps a touch lakeside. In addition to the warmth, dew points Wednesday will rise into the low to middle 70s bringing in miserable humidity and pushing feel like temperatures well into the mid 90s.

The next round of storms is on the way. Most of Wednesday morning and even around lunch time should be pretty dry but the rain chance will start in the early afternoon. The best timing for storms right now looks like 2-8 PM with the most likely time in the Milwaukee metro area right around 5 PM.
A Level 2 Slight Risk has been put in place for all of southeast Wisconsin for Wednesday afternoon and evening. The heat and humidity in place Wednesday will increase the energy storms can tap into to become severe. Severe thunderstorm watches may be possible for the afternoon.
Rain totals for most of southeast Wisconsin look like a good soaking 0.25-0.75" of rain. But some of the storms may be slow moving which could allow for a quick inch or more of rain to fall quickly in some areas.
Some minor street flooding is one of the concerns with any storms that do develop Wednesday. Damaging wind is the main threat right now but some small hail might be possible along with the chance for an isolated tornado.
