MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – Phase one of construction on the American Family Insurance Amphitheater is 90 percent complete, according to leaders at Summerfest.
To celebrate the milestone, construction crews were given lunch on Monday.
Phase one included raising the roof to create more space for production and add dressing rooms for artists and bands.
“What we do here in Milwaukee is unlike anything else in the world,” Summerfest Sales and Marketing Vice President Sarah Smith Pancheri said. “When you think about the infrastructure that we’ve created here at Henry Meier Festival Park, it really affords Summerfest to be a unique experience unlike anything else you’ve ever seen.”
Phase two of construction will begin after Summerfest 2019 ends. It will focus on new seating, bathrooms and concessions.
