(WAUWATOSA) - It's been said many times that as we age, if you don't move it you lose it. But staying active can be a difficult task in and of itself for older adults.
At the St. Camillus Life Plan retirement community in Wauwatosa seniors are taking part in a new pilot program aimed at improving their fitness created exclusively by the Marquette University College of Nursing called Physical Activity for Life for Seniors. Developed by interim associate dean for research Dr. Kimberlee Gretebeck, the program is a 10-week physical activity program geared toward helping older adults maintains their physical function and independence.
On CBS 58 Sunday Morning Amanda Porterfield put the innovative program for seniors in the Sunday Morning Spotlight.
