MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- As tax season approaches, there are changes that Americans should be preparing for before filing taxes.
Karen Orosco, President of Global Consumer Tax and Service Delivery at H&R Block joined us on Thursday, March 9 to discuss such changes.
She noted that one of the biggest changes this tax season is the expiration of most pandemic relief programs, which had provided additional tax benefits to filers such as families with children and small business owners in the past couple of years.
Orosco also mentioned that 69% of Americans are concerned about the impact of inflation on their personal finances, making them more reliant on their tax refund this year.
Along with these changes, people's choices, such as taking a loan out against their retirement savings, picking up a side job, or selling investments will also affect their tax refunds.
