RACINE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A teen accused of stabbing and killing his mother was back in court Wednesday, March 12.

It was the first time we saw 16-year-old Reed Gelinskey inside the courtroom since he was charged with first-degree intentional homicide for the death of his mother.

Gelinskey is being charged as an adult after the criminal complaint said he planned to kill both his parents and was inspired by a recent documentary about the Menendez Brothers.

The teen's family was inside the courtroom.

The court commissioner determined Gelinskey will stand trial on his charges and the teen's attorneys waived his preliminary hearing.

“I find there is probable cause this defendant committed the alleged felony in the criminal complaint. I’m gonna bound him over to stand trial on the charge," said Court Commissioner Alice Rudebusch.

A reverse waiver hearing is scheduled for June 16.
