MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A 17-year-old boy is accused of firing a gun at Milwaukee police during a standoff on N. Holton Street, according to a search warrant filed Friday, Sept. 19.

The document says Lucas Galarza had barricaded himself in an upstairs room on Thursday, Sept. 18, with several animals inside. His mother told officers he had been increasingly unstable in recent days.

When officers came to the door, they announced themselves before hearing a single gunshot, the warrant states. Galarza was later arrested and treated at a hospital for dog bites on his hands and neck.

The Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission removed multiple animals from the home, noting they were in "deplorable conditions."

Investigators also recovered a revolver for DNA testing.
