Temperatures drop Monday with a widespread frost/freeze Tuesday morning
As a cold front rolls through Wisconsin Monday the temperatures for the day will be a bit unconventional. Morning temps have stayed mild in the upper 40s and low 50s. We stay on the warmer side through about midday then start to drop with 40s in the afternoon leading to 30s Monday night.
The drop in temps will lead to a chilly start Tuesday morning in the lower 30s and even a few upper 20s. For the first time in a couple weeks we will likely see a widespread freeze away from the lakefront (shown in purple in the map below) and a widespread frost lakeside (in the light blue).
The rest of the week could feature a few frosty mornings away from the Lakefront and inland with lows at times dropping into the mid 30s but lakeside stays away from any frosty concerns.
If we don't get to the freezing mark of 32 degrees Tuesday morning in Milwaukee, which doesn't look likely, then our first fall freeze will go down as one of the latest on record. That current record for latest first fall freeze is currently November 24th. Milwaukee's best chance is Tuesday morning. After that we may need to wait another week for chilly lows.
As the temperatures drop Monday afternoon we likely see the winds ramp up with gusts to 35 mph out of the NW. The wind will become lighter on Tuesday off the Lake from 5-15 mph then becomes breezy again on Wednesday from 10-20 mph.
