The heat and humidity from the last week is finally taking a break. A cold front along with some storms finally rolled through Wisconsin on Sunday allowing our temps to finally drop and most importantly the humidity levels to go down. Both Saturday and Sunday saw 90s with 95* the high in Milwaukee on Saturday for the second time in a week and 90* exactly on Sunday. That makes 21 days in the 90s so far this year which is the 5th most of record.
We average one day in the 90s during the month of September so it is definitely possible that we slide into fourth place on that list in the next 4 weeks. But this week we finally get a break with highs in the low 80s on Monday then dropping into the 70s for the rest of the work week. The average high for the beginning of September is 78* so most days are hovering right around that average.
Although humidity doesn't drop off the charts, it's much lower than what it has been. For the last three to four weeks dew points have consistently stayed in the 70s with only a comfier day here or there. Dew points the next three days are all expected to stay in the low 60s so while you might still notice it here and there, it's much better.
Download the CBS 58 Ready Weather app to see when some 80s could return.
