NOW: The worst potholes in the city and an unlikely hero to repair them - the Milwaukee Brewers

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The snow is melting, the temperatures are changing, and Milwaukee's streets are falling apart right on schedule.

We asked viewers where the worst potholes in the city are located and they delivered. Following a donation by the Milwaukee Brewers, those potholes could soon be gone quicker than a Misiorowski fastball.

Like loyal fans on opening day, potholes are showing up in full force.

Leading off with 36th and Fond du Lac, where the pothole is so deep, your tires are likely to go airborne.

Moving over to 35th and National, some of these potholes hold permanent residence, to the point where drivers know when to swerve to avoid them.

Let’s not forget one on Forest Home and 16th Avenue. I mean, how could you? It's so massive, it might as well have its own ZIP code.

The Brewers have a solution for this problem — $27,500 worth to be exact.

“One of the gifts of spring that we all see coming about are the potholes. And we experience them like the fans do," said Tyler Barnes, senior VP with the Brewers.

“Any help that we can be to make the path to and from the ballpark a little smoother, all the better," said Barnes.

The money would be used to buy an asphalt hot box.

“Take asphalt that would’ve otherwise expired or become essentially solid and unusable and reheat it, which will allow us to use hot mix asphalt further into the season on either end,” said Kevin Muhs, city engineer for Milwaukee.

The city says it's better for the environment because it recycles old asphalt and reduces trips to the asphalt yard.

“The hot mix asphalt is more effective at filling potholes. It’s a longer lasting bond than cold mix and we like to use it when we can to get better service to the public,” said Muhs.

Each repaired pothole would be stamped with a Brewers logo.

So, enjoy your local pothole while it lasts. Soon, these craters will get up, get up, get outta here and be gone!
