Thousands expected to attend Horror Con in downtown Milwaukee's Baird Center this weekend
CBS 58 MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- It's Friday the 13th, and what perfect timing it is for the start of Horror Con in Milwaukee -- Wisconsin's only horror convention!
Thousands of fans from across the country are expected to attend the three-day event located downtown at the Baird Center.
Convention director CJ Vecchio told CBS 58 the family-friendly event has something for all ages.
"I think it's just the overall experience and stories," Vecchio said. "Loyal. They're loyal, they're excited, this is like kiddie land for them, a candy shop for them."
There will be more than 90 vendors offering up art, merch and more for purchase, as well as various photo ops with several horror film celebrity actors.
"We have two Jasons this weekend -- we have the very first Jason, Ari Lehman, and CJ Graham, from Jason Lives," Vecchio said.
On Saturday, Vecchio, who is also an ordained minister, will marry fans in horror-themed weddings with actress Felissa Rose standing by to act as a sort of maid of honor.
"We have people coming from Michigan and Florida to get married for this!" Vecchio said.
And on Sunday, they are calling on anyone and everyone who has a Jason Voorhees mask or costume, the iconic killer from Friday the 13th, to come out at 2 p.m. as officials attempt to make a Guinness Book of World Record hit for most people dressed as the villain at one time.
"When I was a kid, I would ditch high school to go see a Friday the 13th opening day, so it's just excitement," Vecchio said.
