Tough weather conditions to start a new work week and staying cold into 2026
Mid-Morning Update for Monday, December 29th...
Both the Wind and Winter Weather Advisory will be allowed to expire at noon today. But still be mindful of some rough conditions on the road.
Update as of 8 AM Monday, December 29th...
The snow is wrapping up now. The Winter Storm Warning we had for the norther tier is now just a Winter Weather Advisory like everyone else. There's also a Wind Advisory in place until 6 PM as well. The wind gusts around 40 to 50 mph will blow the snow, causing a reduction in visibility. Please drive with caution. More light snow is possible both Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon.
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58)--Numerous weather alerts across the area today, including a Winter Storm Warning for Fond du Lac and Sheboygan Counties. A Winter Weather Advisory holds for everyone else. A Wind Advisory is also in effect for the entire area. Wind gusts from the northwest at 45-50 mph are possible. In terms of snow amounts, look for 1-3"+ possible across the metro and closer to 4-6"+ for the northern tier. The big problem today will be blowing and drifting. Please take it easy on the roads today and drive with extreme caution.
The weather quiets down considerably Monday evening and night. But we still have two minor snow chances Tuesday and Wednesday with different clipper systems. They will reinforce the cold air we have in place. Look for 20s for highs this week. Teens are even possible on New Year's Day. Lows at night in the single digits and teens. Perhaps we'll see above freezing temps in a week. Stay tuned!
