Officials say it happened around 3:17 p.m. on the railroad tracks in the 11600 block of Seven Mile Road.
A preliminary investigation revealed the driver of the truck, a 41-year-old Racine man, attempted to drive past the railroad gates and was struck by the train. Officials say the gates were down and properly functioning.
The train was traveling 79 mph at the time of the crash.
No injuries were reported to any of the passengers or crew on the train.
