Racine (CBS 58)--It's not everyday you encounter winds gusting to 100 mph. But I did this past week. I stepped into the wind tunnel at Modine Manufacturing in Racine. This company normally tests the power of engines by applying as much pressure to the vehicle as possible. But this time around, I got to endure the force of Mother Nature. I first encountered tropical storm-force winds at 45 mph, and then it incrementally increased. Of course, I was fully equipped to handle the elements with a helmet, special glasses, and footwear.
Winds can get to 130 mph in the tunnel. This experiment definitely gives you a perspective of being in an EF-1 tornado but without the deadly flying debris.
