MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- UPS revealed plans to hire roughly 1,000 seasonal employees in Milwaukee to prepare for the upcoming holiday season.

The announcement came on Tuesday, Sept. 26. The company aims to fill both full-time and part-time positions, primarily focusing on seasonal delivery drivers, Commercial Driver's License drivers and package handlers.

The seasonal hourly pay rates for these positions start at $21 for package handlers and driver helpers, while driving jobs begin at $23 per hour.

Nationwide, the company plans to hire more than 100,000 seasonal employees. Nearly 80% of these positions are said to bypass the interview stage, courtesy of UPS's digital application process that generally takes less than 20 minutes to complete.
